Outside the mosque Wapauwe privileges as historic synagogue, there was a uniqueness to this building. Almost all mosques made from raw materials of plant origin sago. Wow!
The mosque is made without nails, cement and other materials commonly used by a building. Wapauwe walled mosque or gaba-gaba midrib dried sago. The roof is covered with sago palm leaves are always well cared for. The main building mosques measuring just 10 x 10 meters. However, later built additional rooms measuring 6.35 x 4.75 meters.

In addition to the unique, the mosque was apparently shrouded in myth as well. According to the story that developed in the community, before the actual mosque Kaitetu Wapauwe not located, but in Tehala, a village located on a hill and not far from Kaitetu. Community Tehala move to Kaitetu course without bringing mosque.
However, on a morning when people woke up, magically Wapauwe mosque has been in the middle of residential areas in Kaitetu!
"According to our belief (the Kaitetu), the mosque was moved by unseen. Because according to the stories of our parents, when people wake up in the morning turned out to be a mosque there, "said resident Kaitetu, Ain Nukuhaly quoted from Wikipedia, Wednesday (18/07/2012).
Logically, it is certainly not unreasonable. How do I switch positions mosque itself from the hill to the coast. But that's what people believed Kaitetu.
