Cassia Coop Building Training
Center is located on the River Full, Kerinci regency, Jambi Province. Although
it seems simple, the presence of the training building is very meaningful to
the people around.
The idea of making this
building blaze in 2010. At that time, a French businessman, Patrick Barthelemy,
carrying a suitcase full of cinnamon bark to Trondheim, Norway.
After a year full boil right
concept, TYIN Tegnestue Architects visited the site and build a training center
for
farmers and local workers cinnamon. The training center was later named
Cassia Coop Training Center. The training center's manager hopes to set a new
standard capable of making the peasants and workers could receive a decent income,
health programs, as well as access to schools and education.
Cassia Coop building has an
area of not less than 600 square meters. This building was built using heavy
brick and concrete. Wood construction is around the middle of the building
gives the impression of being in the middle of the woods cinnamon.
As a surprise, you will find
two pieces of durian trees in the middle of the building. The architects use
all the skills and experience of previous projects to make this building. They
use thermal mass, reduces sunlight, and maximize roof.
They also insisted on using
local materials. The bricks were made not far from the location of the
building, and the wood used comes from the cinnamon tree. Previously, the wood
is "not considered" by the local people.
Construction of the main
building consists of a Y-shaped pillars, which are bolted to the concrete. The
placement of these pillars was planned well in blueprint.
The system maintains the
construction of this building still standing strong. You can find five brick
building under a large roof. These buildings used for classrooms, laboratories,
offices, and a kitchen, which is the process only takes three months.
During that time, the major
logistical challenges to be faced by a team of workers. The team consists of 70
people, and 8 buffaloes. For the problem of frequent disasters that befall this
location, the designers have issued a claim, that this construction is safe
from disasters.
Remarkably, the architects
have designed a simple system that can be done by workers who are not experts.
Evidently, the building is able to withstand vibrations of up to 5 on the
Richter scale.
